Over Memorial Day Weekend I saw the Red Hot Chili Peppers at Allstate Arena. Anthony Kiedis opened the show wearing a tuxedo jacket with a tail…I need one. Flea ended the show by walking on his hands across the stage and then finishing with an incredible jam session on his guitar. I had my own jam session on my air guitar post show! I’m not too bad if I do say so myself…

It’s the great Birkin debate of 2012: was it right of photographer Tyler Shields (boyfriend of Francesca Eastwood) to burn a $100,000 croc Birkin for the sake of art? The girls of Style Block have something to say…
I wasn’t for it when I first heard about the photos, but after I read this it makes sense that people spend a lot of money on photoshoots and at the end of the day, the $100,000 could have been spent on an exotic location for the shoot or on a handbag. It’s up to the artist!—Jena, Statement Maker
Don’t make up some story about donating money to a charity when put on the spot.  If you want to burn a Birkin to portray a message, then do it for that reason and stick to it.—Erin, Less Is More
Not impressed. Lame stunt act done for shock value, not art. Burning a knock-off would’ve been more suitable.—Chelsea, Relaxed With Heels
I believe this is true art and timeless. It is meant to create emotion and clearly I think that has been achieved. To spread hate and even death threats when one does’t understand the backend is upsetting and unfair. I think we will be seeing alot more of Tyler Shields in the years to come! —Corri, Rock ‘N Chic
If the Birkin was fake then have at it! I just find it very hard to believe that a creative man like Tyler can’t see the beauty in the true craftsmanship of an Hermes bag. Someone who lives their life in the arts should understand the beauty of the piece, whether it be a photo or a handbag. —Bridget, Black Is The New Black
